The dealer would know better than any of us. We can't see it. Take a drive by and ask.2016 Genny with 3,000 or so miles left on the Bumper to Bumper steering wheel showing cracking where your hands go will they cover that under warranty?
This is an excellent example of why it’s intelligent to cultivate a good relationship with your dealer over the years. If you walk in with this kind of problem and they know you well, your resolution chances are much better.2016 Genny with 3,000 or so miles left on the Bumper to Bumper steering wheel showing cracking where your hands go will they cover that under warranty?
Wish my Ultimate had a heated steering wheel... Prob wouldn't irk me if the Wife's 2014 Soul didn't have one!Make sure the color matches and that it comes from a car with/without steering wheel heating. The harness (from what I've read) is different between the two.
Was poking around... this might explain the XM Data. Enjoy SiriusXM for fee till Jul 06I was in for an oil change a couple weeks ago and I asked the service advisor to take a look at my steering wheel as it is not holding up well (see post above from April 30th). After review, the dealership/Hyundai decided to replace the steering wheel under warranty. Very nice of them. The leather on the replacement is super nice, and it feels like the leather they are using on the G80 these days ... not as smooth as the leather that came on the 2016. The replacement steering wheel leather has a bit of "texture" if you will. The brown color on the replacement steering wheel aligns nicely with the brown leather above the gauges. Per the dealers paperwork, the total cost for the work was $880 (including the $60 Enterprise they put me in). I have a copy of the changes, posted here is the warranty invoice along with a couple images (including an old and new close up).
As an aside, I am not sure whey this happens, I seem to get XM Data from time-to-time. I am pretty sure I only have the music package, but sometime Weather and etc. services appear. Not sure if this is related to being at the Dealer, I just happened to noticed this after I picked the car up and was testing EVERYTHING out that I could before I left the dealership ... just to make sure all the steering wheel controls/features worked as designed.
