I live in Houston, TX where I would think the dealers have a fairly good rotation of vehicles. I tend to test drive cars quite a bit because I'm always curious what is out there. I have no idea why this is, but the Hyundai Genesis and Equus that I've driven over the past few years seem to have a very high number of vehicles that right off the lot exhibit considerable steering wheel shake. I tend to think it might be a pretty easy fix, but it is incredibly annoying when trying to evaluate against other vehicles. What I find especially strange is that I've noticed it in both the Genesis and the Equus multiple times now, again, with different dealers. I've certainly seen it elsewhere, but not nearly as many times. I would be livid if I drove a car off the lot with this kind of issue. Of course this is why you need to really need to test drive the vehicle you want plenty of times before committing. Just something I've noticed and I was curious whether others have noticed it to a greater degree on this vehicle or whether its just me.
 
I think it's probably variable load forces from poorly manufactured OEM tires. Continentals are notorious for this. Google "Hunter road force balancing" for the tire retailers that have their equipment.
 
Not on my Genesis, and don't recall anyone else mentioning it. You might want to check the tire pressure and make sure dealer lowered it from shipping PSI (usually quite high) to 33 PSI.

Two Genesis so far ( 2009, 2012 ) NO problems whatsoever and have seen nothing reported on this site ! :)

My Genny was fine off the lot, but poor attempts at wheel balancing at the factory is probably the cause.

I agree sound like wheel balance problem. Could have come unbalanced in transit, but you would think the dealer would have driven it and done a check over.
 
My new Equus was completely misaligned from the factory. The dealer fixed it but said they have never seen the numbers so far off.
