Regrets if any of this is untrue in US - I am in Canada. I have a V6 with Tech (no Nav) so Your Mileage May Vary.
1 - fix trunk rain water issue - ASAP. Make a retrofit available.
2 - revise turn signal stalk - I find myself turning off the auto lights unintentionally when signalling.
3 - power pedals, or much greater stroke on steering
wheel (I'm 6'2 with long legs - I'm still trying to get the setup just right). Map the memory feature to the keyfob so I don't even have to touch the button (I'm lazy).
4 - more interior storage - lose the cig lighter or make it removable from a useful storage spot, as others have done. Line all storage with cloth or other non-slip surface.
5 - add bluetooth to tech package. I don't want a full nav pkg (which costs over $5k in Canada), but I miss the bluetooth.
6 - up the power on the heated seats. try a BMW for an example - they go from frozen to toasty in 15 seconds, the Genny takes 2-3 minutes and still isn't nearly as warm, even on three.
7 - Heat the steering
wheel! A friend had this on an 04 (I think)
Infiniti I35 - GREAT feature!
8 - have a native speaker edit the manual - the Korenglish is awful in places.
9 - Use the
KDM winged logo. I'm not ashamed to be driving a Hyundai, but that logo is much more in tune with the lux/sporting nature of the car than the funny little H which works so well for the cheap and cheerful Accent etc.
10 - folding rear seats, but only if the structure can be beefed up in some other way - DO NOT SACRIFICE PERFORMANCE OR HANDLING.
11 - "S" version or package tuned more aggressively.
12 - more rigidity in body panels - hood, roof, fenders etc. feel a little flimsy when polishing after waxing. DO NOT ADD WEIGHT.
13 - more colours and interior trims, and greater flexibility in selection.
Lastly - BUILD THEM IN NORTH AMERICA. I'm not a "Park your Toyota in Tokyo" unionist (obviously, since I bought a Hyundai), but some issues we are talking about in these forums (fora?) such as dealer training/response, speed to market, availability of different models, versions, upgrades and
aftermarket support would be greatly improved, not to mention it would remove one more barrier to purchase for many in USA/Canada.
