  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Stiffer Sway Bars?

Just want to provide and update -

I have just ordered the parts from my dealer! Dealer calls it the sway bar kit, which includes 2 new bushings, 2 new brackets and the sway bar.

Cost before tax is $154 for everything.

Who's excited to tinker with the Genesis?? <----------This guy is:cool:

I have an excess rear sway bar, never installed, which I will sell for $75, including domestic shipping. This sway bar's part number is 55510 3M150. It includes the mounting brackets and mounting bracket bushings. The diameter of this sway bar is 18.8 mm. If interested contact me directly at reykirkman@
comcast.net

Installed my new sway bar last night - I will start a new thread on the details of the process with a few pics this evening.

Cost - $142 with tax included. Dealer said they wanted to give me a discount, but didn't say why, so I didn't argue.

I'm very interested in how this worked out. In particular, how much did the body roll decrease? Was there a noticeable affect on ride quality? My Genesis understeers at the limit. Stiffer rear sway bars can lead to oversteer. Have you driven the car hard enough to see how the cars under/oversteer balance has been changed?

I haven't driven the car yet, so time will tell on any difference (if noticable). As you know the Genesis understeers at the limit and typically a stiffer rear anti-sway bar would decrease the understeer, but I doubt that this will lead to oversteer on the Genesis. It's no AMG. Stay tuned..........

I don't suppose anything in this thread would help my 2012 4.6 from bouncing 3 times after I drive out of my driveway with the smallest of drop? I'm always afraid that I'm going to bottom out when I hit the smallest of bumps/holes.

Wow, that's actually my car on there when you click Genesis Sedan 2WD front strut bar lol. I told the guy I had to drill a hole for the bar to mount properly, but otherwise it was an easy install.

Yes, I had to drill the hole on the driver’s side also. I had to drill through 3 layers and had to get a longer bolt but I had it on hand. I was able to leave my engine cover on with 4.6L as the bar had clearance. They should be adding my pic to site if they haven’t already.
