  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I drive a 2013 R-spec (bought new about a month ago) and was wondering if it makes sense to rebadge at least the trunk and wheels.

I'd like to get your thoughts. Thanks!:)

Does it make sense?
It's completely a personal preference.
I say go for it. It definitely gets you a lot more looks as people not familiar with the wing badges try to figure out what your car is.

That's exactly what I did, but to each their own. For me, I don't like the asymmetric h, but I'm not going to mess with the airbag.

I rebadged the trunk and airbag on my R-spec. Love the trunk badge, not so much the airbag badge (sits too high - looks cheap). I think I'm going to remove the "Genesis 5.0 Rspec" badges on the trunk too.

I also have the wheel badges but not sure how to remove the stock center caps without taking the wheels off. Any suggestions?

I used an old Dave and busters card and squeezed it between the metal lip and plastic center bending the card in the process, then scooped it out. There are lots of threads on how to do it more conventional ways.

Trunk done, wheel centers done, airbag with new badge done.

Leaving the hood clean & pristine.

May remove the G E N E S I S from the trunk go clean...

There are not too many around where I live, but I'm seeing about 60% rebadged.

The R-Spec center caps are the same as the 17" wheel center caps on the Base Genesis. Some people have driven a standard blade screwdriver into the middle of the center caps with hammer and got them out that way, without having to possibly damage the rims by prying them out. Obviously, this will ruin the OEM center caps. I had them swapped out by Costco when they rotated my tires.

Trunk done, wheel centers & airbag with new badges.
Left the hood clean.
Removed the "G E N E S I S" from the trunk with dental floss too.
Looks good IMO.

I remove everything with the exception to the R-Spec. Also, get some sticky tape and create U shape like patters attaching the longer side to the cap and pull with pliers and the cap will come right off without damaging anything.

2013 3.8 sedan. Just the trunk and Hood. Dont think I will mess with the rest. Trunk is a big improvement for me. Still chewing on the hood emblem.

I removed the trunk and airbag emblems...I also removed the "genesis 5.0" as well . J like to keep people guessing on what kind of car it is....

This may seem like a silly question, but how do I remove the wing badge on the hood without harming the paint?

Look for instructions on removing the trunk emblem. The process is essentially the same with no center posts.
