If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, and Merry Christmas!

Does anyone know the stock 17" and 18" wheel weight? This would help in determining possible aftermarket wheels.

Also, does anyone have pics of the stock 17" wheels that come on the base V6 model Genesis? I can;t seem to find any pics online- and none of the local Hyundai dealers have base V6's in stock.

Thanks in advance.

Heavy! Sorry, I didn't weigh them but I pulled the rear 18" for the 4.6 when I painted the calipers black. I thought I was going to pull my back out. They felt at least twice as heavy as the stock wheels/tires on my Subaru WRX STI, for what its worth.

I figured the stock wheels would be casted and therefore very HEAVY.

Do you happen to know what offset, bolt pattern, and size, i.e. 17x8" or 18x8"?

This is one of the reasons why I'm leaning towards getting either a base V6 or a V6 with a Premium package (without wheels). I usually buy lighter, forged aftermarket wheels anyway.

I just want to know how bad the stock wheels are before I start looking at the aftermarket.

Thanks in advance.

I am sure the 18s are very heavy. If you go with a 3pc forged wheel even in 20" will weigh less than the 18s. The 20s on my GS weigh 29.7 lbs for the 10" wide rear wheel. The stock 16s weighed over 32lbs.

Zombie rising from the dead here.....

I can't find where this question has actually been answered - what is the actual weight of the stock 18's? I'm curious to know what weight savings I have with my wheels, which are 22lbs a piece.

You are obviously talking about 2009-2014, but what exact model year? The wheels changed in 2012. But if you are getting after-market wheels, why would you get 17's?
