  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone else experience this? The stone / rock guard (I guess that's what it's called; it's just a piece of thin plastic to protect the body panel from paint chips) is actually coming loose on BOTH sides. Baffling to me. My dealer says they'll cover it under warranty, but they don't want to do the work themselves. They've ordered the part, but they're going to send me to a local body shop to have the work done.

Probably overkill with the attachments, but the camera phone is a little iffy.

Wow, makes you wonder if they were poorly applied, or applied over dust/dirt. I am not seeing this problem on mine. Of course, where I live we are not exposed to a lot of weather, road salt, etc.

It's a thick "shield" and needs to be installed by a pro, such as film installer and/or body shop. It's really not needed, but maybe in the years to come would save the paint from wear. It is actually the same product used for the front end of cars with the "paint protection", it's just sized and cut for the side of the vehicle.

I never even noticed the rock guard on our Genesis. There was a weird plastic delamination that occured on our wheel caps however. It wasn't clear if the original protective layer got stuck or some clear coat was peeling. The dealer replaced our caps with ones from another car on the lot.
