  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I stopped at 2 Hyundai dealers to take a look at other Genesis models to get an idea of quality and struck out. The first dealer didn't sell Genesis at all, but I should have checked this first. (I thought all Hyundai stores had them.) The 2nd dealer that did sell Genesis didn't have any new Genesis cars there at all. I wonder how committed the dealers are at this point and am not sure how it will impact my decision. I'm not too confident right now.

Yeah...here’s another thing that puzzles me. Genesis USA website has a Certified Preowned link. It has NEVER worked. I did at one point consider a G80 Sport...CPO. Have to call individual dealers. Awful.

In this day and age...all this shit should be coordinated and working.

As much as I want the G70...starting to worry about corporate.

From everything I've read here, dealers attitude varies considerably. It is also time to start reducing inventory in anticipation of the 2019 models hitting the floor.

I just checked two dealers I've bought from. One had 5, the other is down to 9 but he has had 18 at one time. I would suggest you go on line and find a couple of other dealers in your area and see what they have. Most use the same software to show inventory and it only takes seconds.

Also dealers that are not planning to sell Genesis in the future (for a variety of reasons) are unlikely to have any new inventory.

Finally, just wondering if these dealers were Hyundai or Hyundai/Genesis dealers not that it makes a big difference but that’s just at present.

I clicked on the CPO link and it says
GENESIS
CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED

A breath of fresh luxury comes to Certified Pre-Owned later this year. In preparation for certification, each vehicle undergoes a meticulous inspection by Genesis technicians. The Genesis CPO experience will include the following suite of ownership benefits...

Is this what you mean by it working or was it doing something else?

Website listed both as Genesis dealers, but first place turned out to be Hyundai only. 2nd dealer had a Genesis sign out front, but maybe they are getting out of it. There is a 3rd dealer nearby that has inventory, so this is probably the current real Genesis dealer. It's kind of confusing.

I agree the 3rd dealer is probably the real one and I also agree it is confusing. Likely will be until the dealers settle down and commit to either staying or going. I would watch out for the ones that are leaving as they are very unlikely to provide quality service and support after the deal closes.

I guess it's highly unnecessary for all Hyundai dealers to sell Genesis and they probably won't. There's only one Lexus dealer near me for 4 Toyota dealers, for example. I'll try dealer #3 with the inventory, next week.

Probably see them getting the last remnants of the 2018MY allotments.

A week ago, Autotrader had around 1,200 G80s listed, but now it's up to 1,845 (so there was a new shipment that hit, at least, a certain # of dealerships within last week.).
