  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Last night while driving my 2016 3.8 ultimate I got a audiable and visual alert on the nav screen that announced "curve ahead". At the time the navigation system was not routing. And yes there was a curve. I have had the car a month and never heard this before. I have been around a lot of curves. Anyone else ever see such a warning ?

There is an option in the Navi system that let you select to be warned when a curve is ahead but AFAIK it only works when navigating.

It works whether on an active NAV route or not...

It would appear that it's not to accurate. I drive the Jackie Robinson Parkway in Brooklyn a lot. The road is nothing but hair pin turns and I was never warned. Last night was the first and only time. No big deal. Just asking.

The system doesn't smell curves. It only announces those curves programmed into it.

It may be a combination of your speed and the curve's sharpness that causes the warning, maybe you were a little faster than usual on that day.

I get this warning frequently with or without the NAV mapped to a location. Great feature for those curves your not familiar with. Will definitely turn that feature off when driving the Blue Ridge Parkway :D

After 26k miles, there is only one curve within a 25 mile radius that gets announced....not sure why this is but it certainly doesn't work on any other curves.....go figure....
