  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,
I have a 2009 Hyundai Genesis and recently, a God awe full noise has been coming from my right rear of the car. Sometimes, it clicks, sometimes squeals, sometimes sound like it’s grinding. Sometimes the drivetrain will bind up when it happens and the car has a little bit of trouble moving for about 3 feet. This happens all the time, turning or driving straight and in forward or reverse. My first thought would be a CV axle but I’ve also been told it could be my struts or even brakes. I’ve tried taking it to a dealership but they didn’t find anything wrong and when I personally drove a technician around for 20 min, the problem mysteriously disappeared, though of course it still persists for me.

Things to check:
1. Drive shaft center bearing.
2. Parking brake.
3. Brakes.

maybe the dust shield for your brakes is rubbing?

Sounds like the parking brake shoe broke apart and is tumbling around in the drum.
Drive down the road (20mph or less) and slowly apply your parking brake. If it's the problem you'll feel it through the pedal. You'll also hear some gross noises.
