Strange Rain Sensing Wipers Behavior

Just noticed this happening the past 3 days, or so.

When it is raining and I start my car, the wipers travel about half way up in a super slow motion, then return back down. They don't come back up/on unless I manually move the wiper selector out of Auto.

Anybody experience this before?

wow. nothing like that here. i have noticed that they seem to work a little differently (less sensitive?) with the recently replaced windshield. could be my imagination ... is yours replacement glass?

No, original glass installed. Just seems random. I can duplicate it if I pour water on the glass. Will probably have the dealer take a look at it when I have time.

Sounds like the Parking mechanism for the wipers is icky""
Probably a relay or maybe it's within the motor unit...

Never had this issue with either the original windshield or the OEM replacement.

My wipers do the same thing when it is just about to rain. Its as if they cant figure out if they should turn on or not. Once the rain picks up they work fine though. Just got the car so I dont know if thats normal or not.
