Strongarm trunk support

Trunk was not opening itself so i took the advice of someone who posted on here and replaced it with this STRONGARM 6926 piece from rock auto. Was able to finish this in less then 30 minutes and I only had to change one strut. Easy $30 and 30 minute job.

ahhh ok how did they take to stop working. I only changed one btw

The first time I replaced one - lasted about a month -2nd time both: lasted about 2 months

Hi: I just bought hood struts for my 2015 Genesis sedan. I would appreciate any comments/advice about installing them myself. Dealer wants $200. thanks. charles

I looked up “2015 Hyundai genesis hood strut replacement” on YouTube and found many videos on other Hyundais. Not genesis specifically, I recommend looking at your struts while you watch some of the different videos and see if the process/layout is mostly the same. I’m sure after some videos you can save the $200 and figure it out on your own.

Hood struts might be easier considering they’re out in the open as opposed to replacing my trunk struts which were a little hidden. Not a hard job regardless but still

I know there are instructions on trunk lid struts here, not sure of hood struts though.

Hardly anything to it...

1. Using a screwdriver, lift the socket clips (A) up slightly on both ends of the lifter (B), and then remove the lifter from the bracket.

2. Push the socket of the lifter into the bracket for installation.
