  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have 2010 which has the sticking tilt steering issue so many have had. I pulled the steering wheel cover and found that the Limiting switch for the tilt was causing the wheel to start and stop when pushing the button up. I removed the 2 screws and pulled the switch away from the column. No more start stop issue. I pushed the limiting switch manually in both directions and after 5 times back and fourth movements the tilt no longer stuck. If this does not resolve it long time I will look at replacing the limiting switch. For now it seems to have resolved the issue with the auto tilt feature.

These switches were a problem with the first 2010 and some 2011 Genesis. There were TSBs issued and many early owners got new switches installed.

Never saw TSB 12-01-001 before. Removing the limiting switches would resolve the issue. I took the car in while under warranty but they did not do this TSB. My guess is if they did it now it would cost me $$. I had an issue just last month with the limiting switch in the seat back.

My 2009 was in 4 times. Then they said a new column was ordered but when I took it in the 5th time they tried something else. They said they could not get the ok to replace the column due to the cost of it. Now it is out of warranty but the problem has not happened again, at least yet

Fixed twice on my car at the dealer for free. Once under a TSB and then another on the recall.
