  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Subwoofer Removal

Don't think so, the stock amp is located at the left rear corner of the trunk so I believe they tapped the signal there.

Oh ok. Thanks.

How's life with a sub back there? I'm trying to see if there are any annoying rattles, squeaks, etc...

Sorry I am late to the party.

I installed 2 12" Type Rs with a ported box last summer.

I ended up removing the stock sub in order to save it from the pressure and to increase the SQ.

As far as a good output signal, I used the factory sub lines and a LOC and tuned it with a multimeter. My posts start on page 11, but there should be some other info on pages 1-10 http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=1685&page=11

Most prominent rattle was from the bluetooth speaker in the headliner. I removed it, took a "jar lid grip" and an exacto knife to cut a gasket. removed the speaker from the trim and placed the "gasket" between the speaker and the trim with the buttons then reinstalled. No more rattle.

Most body noise will come from the bumper I have not yet addressed this, but plan to this summer. It only turns noticeable with the volume at 24+, Bass setting to 0+ with equal balance and fade. Anything less than that and other cars wont hear the ugly. (Yes, the factory tuning will adjust your amps output once installed, so dial in your amp accordingly.)

I'll answer any questions I can

Hey ShadowZ, took a look at your setup, nice. I'm pretty sure you'll have some rattles and squeaks with that setup. For what I have in mind, I don't think I'll be creating that much pressure. I'm hoping that 1 10 won't introduce any noises...

It shouldn't, I had three 10-inch subs in there and no squeaking.

Ok guys, here's a question where did u get the remote for the amp?

My insataller used in inline converter which includes the remote for the amp but its either faulty or theres signal interference coming from thr gennesis. At times when I would quickly turn on and then off the accessories the amp stayed on with sub making strong sounds (bump, bump, bump) and the third time this happened it fried my sub. I've ordered a new sub but want to change the remote feed. Any ideas where to connect it too?

I could use the acc fuse but will need to run the wire from the engine compartment to the truck, but was wondering if there was an easier way/place?
Tap in to the 10 amp radio fuse in the driverside door fuse pannel. I used a fuse tap there for my remote wire

How hard was it to remove the rear sub? Is there an online manual to reference on how to remove the rear seats and back deck to access the rear sub?
