Mines did the same exact thing yesterday my mother was in the store and I was in the car while it was running with the air on after about 20 minutes she came out and we were on the way home and right in the middle of traffic it shut off while I was driving I quickly put it in neutral stopped at the light and started it back up and we kept rolling so I told the dealer what happened they said it could possibly be a battery issue since the battery light came on when it shut offYesterday on my way to lunch, I had just left the office and traveled about a mile to a stop light. While sitting at the stop the engine just quit.
Did not accidentally hit the Engine Kill Button, nothing. The A/C fan, radio all remained on just the engine quit. The car is 3 months old, have had no engine related issues, just wondering if anyone has had a problem like this that has happened more than once.
I really don't want to schedule time with the dealer after just one instance, for them to tell me they found nothing. Was hoping to see if someone ran into a similar issue a few times now, took it to the dealer and hopefully found a resolution. If not I guess we will wait for it to happen again.
The car after putting it back in park, started right up and drove the remainder of the day with no issue.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

This just happened to me aswell today. 2012 genny with 69000 km , after hitting a nice fat bump in the road about 1km earlier I come to a red light. Soon as it turns green I push the throttle and nothing, bunch of lights came up on the dash (didn’t get to take em all down, had cars behind me). Put it in park, restarted and drove perfect like nothing happened. Definitely gave my heart a good exercise. Has this happened to you again since?Yesterday on my way to lunch, I had just left the office and traveled about a mile to a stop light. While sitting at the stop the engine just quit.

Meant Michigan Hyundai.....My 2011 Gen did the same when turning into a driveway the idle was low then suddenly stopped. All dashights were on. I hit the caution lights, put it in park then pushed the start button, everything started like nothing happened . Hasn't happened since. A good local mechanic mentioned you should check your spark plugs if you haven't had a tune up since you purchased it. My battery is 2.5 years old, so no issues there, but thinking about purchasing an Interstate battery. I hear they're the best. My dash ligjt are on, ABS, ESC, etc. Having it checked out now. See my post..Michigan Genesis... thanks. Ill update my fix on the ABS lights. Speed Sensor issue....
I have a 2012 Genesis it has done the same thing to me probably 4 times since I bought the car 4 years ago. I have noticed 3 things, It happens when I brake hard and the A/C is on. It also idles low at about 600 rpm that is too low it think it should be idling at 750-1000 . I think with the AC on it drops the idle every too low that’s the best I could come up withA couple months ago I experienced the same problem that posters mcrean3 and Debbyfla did. I had just exited the interstate and come to a stop at a traffic light when the engine stopped. In my scenario, all indicator lights on the dash came on and the radio stayed on (can't recall A/C). I put the car in park, restarted the engine and moved through the intersection without a problem. The next day I took the car to my dealer, where they ran a diagnostic. My service writer said no errors were logged in the computer, so he couldn’t determine what had happened. He also said he had not heard of this problem before.
I haven't had any problems since, but I still don’t know what caused this problem so I worry about it happening again. The car is a 2012 with about 33,000 miles.
If mcrean3 or anyone else has any updates to share about this problem, please do. Thanks for the help.
