  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 3.8 with tech package. 118k. Never any problems. I just changed out the Original battery and saw where the sunroof had to be reset. While trying to reset it, I couldn’t get past the first phase so I kept re-trying it. Anyway, at some point, the tilt was no longer even (one side was tilted much farther up
Than the other side) I was able to get them even (did not use force) but now when I try to tilt up or down, or try to reset, there is a loud clicking noise. Also, both side do not appear to come down even or seal. So for now, it’s in the tilt up position.
Any ideas??
Thx.

This same thing happened to my sunroof. With the clicking and popping while trying to close it. Estimated repair cost over $1200. Any other routes to just get it closed would be awesome? 2011 genesis tech package 95xxx miles

If you pulloff the accordian pieces on each side you will see a plastic track. One side will be broken. I think you could order the piece and do it your self. Mine doesn't click so anymore I am wonder if I fried something.

Hi. New member here. Just got a 2012 3.8 premium last week and have the same issue. Had a mechanic friend look at the sunroof and he was thinking the broken track was attached to the glass itself. I just aligned the sunroof and leave it closed. Waa going to pull the fuse but cant seem to find it.

pull off the dome light cover where the switch for the sun roof is. there should be two screws inside the sunglasses holder to remove this. Once removed you can simply unplug the sunroof switch from the inside to avoid anyone hitting it. I wish I would have done this along time ago. Because I had it closed but then one day after trying to turn on the dome light and I accidentally hit the sun roof and now it won't go down from tilt mode. I have a towel stuffed in between the gap it's shitty I have to park in parking garages on rainy days but it'll do until I have 1200 to spend to fix it. Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. Unplugged the sunroof today so the button won't accidentally get pushed.
