Sunroof installation

Anyone install sunroof on sedan? I had local shop put one in vw -- looked factory. The genesis' overhead console containing intereior lights is back a bit and this concerns me - roof being too far back in car. Any feedback ? Thanks

+1 - I'd gladly give you mine gratis if my roof could be repaired properly after removing it. I have never opened it and never will.

I agree, the most I would do is leave the shade open but I hardly open it unless on the highway sometimes, but even then I'd rather have it closed.

Interesting. I'm the opposite. I have roof open for local driving, but close it on the highway due to noise.

As far as having one installed, I'd imagine there would be some options to have a bigger than stock one installed. What's the warranty on after market install? My main concern would be if a leak started.

I also like to have my sunroof open daily when weather permits I have driven on the highway at 100kph(62mph) with little to no wind problems.

good warranty 2years on parts/labor-- I had same shop install on vw cc and it looked like factory roof

Most installers do wondrous work on sunroofs. I have only seen botched jobs on old Jeeps and trucks where some clown with a saws-all thought he could do it in a day.

Depending on model. Pop-up sunfoof runs about $500-$600 installed, Sliders both wing and flush run between $800-$1,200. and panoramic/large or twin run between $1,100 and $2,500.

I had this done on my 1st car I ever owned. A 1988 Pontiac Bonneville LE. There was place called Auto Fun in my area back in the day that did all sorts of things. They took my car off site and had a popup sunroof put in for $225. This was in 1999 or 2000. The company did a pretty good job, but I'm not sure how it would have been long term since I totalled the car not long after.

Sunroof cost is $1,295.00 for an inbuilt high end factory look Signature series for sedan. Lifetime warranty on parts for 1st owner, 2 year from my installer. I had a Webasto roof installed on the vw cc with same installer-- zero problems in 3 years. The headliner is replaced with some type of mouse fur stuff-- which I do not like but no biggie . Thanks for input. The more I drive the genesis, the more I like it compared to the vw(especially the quietness, and solidity of chassis). I hope this will not be compromised with roof installation. I may wait a few months-- just bought car last week.

I agree with many others here....... the sun/moon roof is useless to me. Wish they'd make it an option and IMO they could keep the $1000+.
