Sunroof motor

My genesis has been at dealer a week. Sunroof won't close properly. Diagnosis motor. All motors on back order. Maybe I get car in one more week if they can get motor. Is this normal?

I would think they'd replace the sunroof as a unit.

There is a procedure in the owner's manual (~ pg 3-47) to reset the sunroof if it misbehaves - did they try that?

I tried several times but it was out of alignment. Not sure why motor needs repl but that's their story and they're sticking to it! Worse is we r in FL, a long way from "our" dealer. And we gotta leave soon as rental will be up. A mess
