  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, I took a road trip to FL (from SC) and used the sunroof a few times. On the drive back, it decided to stop working. There is a slight sound when I activate the switch, but nothing happens... Guess I should be glad it stopped working when closed.
So she goes in to the dealer next Monday for a list of cosmetic warranty work:
Dark chrome trim (my dealer says he is aware of the TSB and won't try to be a dick about it...we shall see)
Drivers side headlight seems to have a small dead spot in it at the top of the beam on low beams
sunroof issue
interior console peeling

We shall see how all this goes....

Do you have a picture of the headlight dead spot? My headlights also have a dip at the top-middle but I've always assumed that was normal.

It seems like I noticed it the past month or so...I don't recall seeing it before and I've had my G70 for 13 months...

I've had it since day one, also identical on both headlights.

Hopefully others can chime in but I think it may be normal. You still have plenty of other issues to go in about aha.

Same on my G80, always been there.

So they have no idea what to do with my sunroof since they haven’t seen this issue before. 🙄
A case has been opened with Genesis USA and when they figure out what parts to order they will let me know and get my car back in for a fix....or more likely to take the jaws of life to my roof and fubar the whole thing.
They polished my pass side dark chrome trim....annnnnd it looks like crap. I’m not in the mood to fight them on it and I was considering wrapping my door trim and the boomerangs anyway, so I’m just going to go that route to avoid my car being there many more than it has to.
These guys seem to be able to eff up a wet dream.
They sent a driver to my house to deliver my car and collect the loaner. He proceeded to take off with my key fob before I realized he left with it. SMH.
It’s always something, I literally loathe having to bring my car to the dealership for service.
Free oil changes....nah, I’m good...I’ll do it myself and pay for my own oil and filters.

Agree with you on oil and filters. A sunroof going TU is a first here I think so keep us informed. Hope the repair does not involve headliner removal and interior disassembly. I’ve had sunroofs in all my prior cars and had no issues but must say whomever Hyundai/Kia uses as a manufacturer of their sunroof must have failed to copy and improve upon another’s design with all the systemic issues we have here on this forum.

So I went by the dealership this AM to pick up the key fob they took with them by mistake.
Caught the service Mgr while he wasn’t too busy and had a really good convo with him. He said he saw an email come across from Genesis USA late Friday. They have to replace the entire drivers side track for the sunroof. That means headliner has to come out and most likely windshield as well. Ugh. He said it’d be a week long repair.
On the plus side we had a convo about mods (engine, suspension, exhaust) and he said even if the mod might have caused an issue he would still run it up the flagpole for coverage. Sometimes they get approval to fix. I told him about the horror stories I read about genesis dealerships denying everything and he kind of laughed and said, well they apparently don’t want to keep their customers.
So - down side, when they get parts my car will be in the shop for a week....on the upside I don’t have to worry about my tuner and mods any more.

For the record, if my mod ever caused an issue I wouldn’t try to warranty it, I firmly believe that kind of “karma” comes back around to bite ya...

I took my G70 to the dealer because my sunroof was rattling as I drove slow... They were aware of a problem and fixed it..

Does anyone think that front mudguards for Stinger will fit G70?

Update:
So...I am still waiting on parts to arrive at the dealership... Last estimate they gave me is now 12/7 for delivery...
On the plus side, Ive had time to install my EWG wires and WMI and have done the brake snip and the Fuel It flex fuel kit...I'm pretty much "Fully Bolted" as the kids say nowadays...lol
I have an intercooler and ARK springs on order as well...it never really ends... LOL

Let me know about the ARK Springs. I want to lower my car slightly but I also want to keep it comfortable as well.

Ark lowering springs are very nice the back install was simple but the front required a bit of work. Ride is the same but I suggest A wheel alignment about a month after the install. Still looking for a good intercooler for the car.

I am having the same issue. Thanks

So...update from November...they finally have the sunroof parts in and are able to work on it the the week of 1/8/21 (the offered the week of 1/11, but I am out of town the following week so it works better for me). So it'll be right at 3 months to get it in the shop with parts on hand...boy am I glad it broke closed...

I finally got to install my Ark GT-F springs this past weekend. Out of the garage, I got .5" drop and I'm sure it'll settle a little more.
As for ride quality, I'd rate it as excellent when they are new (can't comment on broken in as mine are still too new). Handling is even better than I expected.
I previously installed Eibach sway bars and Whiteline adjustable end links and the springs removed all the remaining body roll without, IMO, compromising ride quality. In fact I would say that the bigger bumps are soaked up better than with OEM springs and road feedback is better overall.

With the drop only being .5-.75" (RWD) if you want to keep the almost stock look, I highly recommend them.

I took my G70 to the shop for the same issue with my sunroof and they have had my car for a month. Though the exhaust on the loaner G80 I have sounds amazing.

I took my G70 to the shop for the same problem with my sunroof they have had my car for one month. They are supposed to be waiting on a part and then have to send it to a sunroof repair shop to get fixed.
