Sunroof stuttering/jerking/laggy when closing or opening

The past week or so, my sunroof started acting a little weird. When tilting or sliding the sunroof, it has become really slow and it seems like its stuttering/jerking when opening or closing. I have provided a link to the video. Could please somebody help me resolve this issue.

Welcome to the club! Mine is doing the same thing. I also have the horrible rattle in mine when closed. Back to the dealer next week.
Such a wonderful automobile but thing like this sure take away from the joy of this car!

Thank god I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. I will try to get mine in the shop as well but I just have to find the time. Hopefully this won't take too long to fix, please post what they have done to correct the issue.

I had the same issue. Dirt tends to accumulate in the tracks and causes the jerky, hesitant movement. Dealer cleaned it out and applied silicone lubricant. Had to take it in twice, plus they had to reset the sunroof because the "one touch" open and close stopped working. Ever since then its been fine.

Great, thank you for the reply. I will be taking my Genesis in tomorrow after work for them to check it out. Hopefully It'll be a quick fix and I don't spend too much time in the waiting area

Bump.

Had by pan sunroof lock up while trying to close yesterday so I dropped it off at dealer today. He called and said tracks etc were all dried up and had no lube. He said he lubed it up and works fine, claimed it should stop the "popping" noise I told him I here when driving over bumps etc.

He did say to bring it in once a year to lube.

I believe a little silicone spray would be a good preventative measure
