  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

sunroof wind noise...

I've noticed mine is a little quieter if the pop-up wind blocker doesn't deploy all the way. While driving, reach up and put your fingers over the blocker and pull it down. All the way down I get the eardrum busting whoomp-whoomp-whoomp of course... but about 75% of the way to normal deployment height the wind noise is less than what I get at full deployment. At least at the speeds I've tested so far - mostly 40 to 50 MPH range. One of these days I'm going to see if there is any way to adjust the deployment height.

I think they look bad, like those similar guards you see on the front windows. Hate all that tacked on junk. Looks cheesy. Now there is another reason not to get it. It wrecks the finish.

I agree. Wind deflector in front of the moonroof, also the rainguard around the windows... while they are functional, I think they ruin the look. But that's just me.

OMG this is too funny. I've had my Genesis for about a month (love it!) and have been upset about the intense wind noise with the sun roof open. I finally started searching for an answer and here I found it.

I opened the sun roof with the car in park so I could see from above. Sure enough, there's the blue tape. I removed it and viola!

Thanks Genesis owners!

Glad you got your answer from this forum. :)
Noise happened to me the first time I opened the sunroof couple of months ago.
Took me less than 5 seconds to react and remove the tape.
My friend was like.. how the hell did you know it was the tape? :D

I have found this to be the case as well. It's noticeably noisier with the deflector in the full up position.
