Sunroof won't open after replacing battery.

Sunroof worked fine before the car sat for 4 or 5 days and it needed a new battery. It was completely dead. Tried the reset procedure but pushing the button forward does nothing. I can get the shade portion to open and close if I hold the button but when it comes to opening the glass it makes some noises as if it's struggling to open the glass. Thanks for any input. Also tried disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and resetting all over with the same outcome.

With the sunshade closed you hold sunroof button forward till sunroof tilts up then you let off and hold it and till it opens and fully closes

Thanks but I tried that reset even after disconnecting the battery and pulling the for a second and it never opens. The shade never even goes forward. Looks like I'll be heading to the dealership.
