  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have looked here and on the web for a super charger kit or turbo, the only thing I have found are the 450 hp versions that somone is making of the genesis coupe.

But does anyone that has made a super charger kit for the 4.6 yet? Or a shop that will make one for the car?

nope

I for one certaily can't wait for it, lol.

Well, perhaps AFTER my 10 year 100,000 mile warranty has expired, I may think about one. Until then, my 375hp is good enough.

I just bought my car this weekend, I'm ready for a supercharger. I'd love to add a kit like that to my 4.6. 375 is nice, but 460-480 is nicer.

The transmission is only rated to 450 HP... I have said it elsewhere but a low boast solution for low end torque is all that is needed. Get torque up around 375-400 at 2000 RPM and this would be a MONSTER.....

Nope, I want as close to 500hp as possible. If Genesis is going to be the Lexus of Hyundai, then they need to make a performance model that compares to the M5, the RS6, E55 AMG, CTS-V, etc. They almost lost this customer to a used M5. Once you drive one of those performance models, nothing else compares. I bought my Genny in hopes that a supercharger would soon be available. And who doesn't want more power?

I wish your tranny a long life....

The point I was making that to bump tq/hp over 450 really means a trans swap... ZF made this tranny to a price, they offer beefier trans but the Genesis Trans is rated to max of 450..

Now, If Hyundai was wiling to build a true AMG/M/V competitor we need more than HP/TQ increases...

beefier trans (manual option?)
full ECS disable
Adjustable suspension

bring it in for 50-53k and I will place my order today..

I agree. Manual tranny, ESC defeat, and adj. susp. Wow, those are the exact 3 things I would want (and maybe a couple of nit-picky ones). I get your point.

Wallyman is on his mark. I have researched this subject extensively and am working with a renowned expert that builds full race Turbo/blown race cars out of NSX's ( 800hp plus).

Im now researching ways to reinforce the zf and maybe reprogram shift points. When I can get the tranny or an alternate that will handle 600 torq I will make the changes to the motor ill increase the combustion chamber or have some head spacers milled. boost 12-20 lbs with other obvious up grades to the fuel system etc..........

finding info is tough and research can be a bit daunting..... we have a few people that are interested in modding this . an inter cooler bracket and lower passenger side mount for the paxton will all fit.....the road block IS the tranny.

Why would you do that? Neither the car, or the motor are designed for forced induction. You would need new tranny, suspension, built bottom end, changed compression, etc. Even then you would make only about 400rwhp.

The Genny is a great car because everything goes together. Its not a sports car. It is a very nice entry level luxury sedan w/ decent performance.

You are not going to magically transform it into a C63, CTS-V, or M5.

What about the 2door

390 ft-lbs for the 3.3TT (from the article) starting way down low 1300rpm is a bit above, and hits much earlier the 5.0's 376 ft-bls @ 3500. Butt-dyno difference will be huge with the TT. Peak HP is pretty much irrelevant outside of internet forum poo slinging, IMO.

Seems like they have a lot of headroom to go much higher by turning the knob on the torque management, presuming they beef up the drivelines to back it up.

This is an older picture (with a lower peak torque), but should still be relevant

Read that wrong. Disregard 😅
