  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Received a very pleasant and unexpected gift from Hyundai today: a package containing an iTunes gift card and an Equus-branded aluminum-and-leather-clad USB thumb drive. The drive was supposed to contain both Mac and Windows software that would take me to the Equus Owner's link.

I appreciate the gift, but had to let Hyundai know that the Mac version doesn't work. When I click on it, I get the message "Unable to load movie playlist. Does the .INI file exist? It must contain a section "[Movies]} with an entry "Movie01=Pathname.dir" folllowed by a second message "Director Player Error - This projector is stopping."

Once this glitch is corrected (a modified download of the software would be a quick fix), I look forward to exploring the Owner's Link site! Even with this little stumble, I wanted to share my thanks to Hyundai for the very kind gift!

Received mine today, but rather than use the USB stick I used the QR barcode (after downloading a free QR reader from the App Store).
I was instantly taken to the gift page on the Equus Owners site where I selected the sommelier app and video of Sideways. It (the site) says to allow 2-4 weeks for Apple to email the iTunes redemption code for the AG Wine app and video.
Very nice indeed.

I got that card as well (although it was of lesser importance to me because I don't enjoy alcoholic beverages); I believe the usb drive contains a link to the Hyundai Owner's link page so that you can register your car with their site. I was able to open the Windows version of the software through VMWare Fusion on the Mac, and it enabled me to finish the registration, so no harm no foul!

But it is nice of Hyundai to keep sending these little surprises!

What I received from Hyundai over the weekend was a beautiful black box with a velcro closure. The top of the box was EQUUS embosed. Inside the box was a brief mailer brochure of the car and wine-tasting results from California and under that embedded in a packing filler was an Equus wine bottle stopper. Chrome plated and in the form of the Equus horse. Very tastful.

Yippie! Got my wine stopper in the mail today, packed in about 120 cubic inches of styrofoam and 2 square feet of cardboard (at least the cardboard is biodegradable).

I'll add it to my collection of other wine stoppers I've received as gifts, none of which I ever use. The corks that come in the bottles of wine I buy work just fine for me.

Note to Hyundai...how 'bout a NAV update instead? I'll take that any day over a wine stopper, a thumb drive, or an iTunes gift card.

Hi Mike. You have an 09 Genesis in Black Noir Pearl? May I ask how the paint is holding up through the different car washings, sun, snow, salt, etc? Are there alot of scratches due to the above? Thanks!

So far it's doing great (just about to surpass 24K miles). I'm not a big car washer (I'm doing well if I wash my car once every 3 months) so in some respects I'm not a good candidate to say how well the paint is holding up to lots of washings. My Genny is garage-kept, thus not spending a lot of time in the sun, so I'm not a good candidate to judge sun damage either. I previously owned a black Volvo S70 and two black Saab 900's before that. The Genny has held up just as well as those cars.

I haven't got diddly from Hyundai, I bought my Equus in December. I'm with you, though - I'd take a better NAV over a cork stopper any day

Mhm I did not get one. :( Though I am a Hyundai purchaser since a couple of years now. Buying a new car regularly every three years. That is actually really weird. I for my part would have been really happy with a delivery of Champagne or the wine-tasting.

Don't get me wrong, I would never want to imply any of you did not deserve the gift I just think it is not okay to not give long term customers anything. Maybe they just don't like me :D
