  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I start my beautiful new cruising limo and turn on the media music. I then go to settings and advanced and the surround sound is set to OFF, yet the last time I ran the car I had the SS set to ON. Does the SS default to off each time?
Bit of a nuisance if it does. I like SS.
Nick

nickpike- not sure if European Genny's would be different, but here, the setting sticks.
The question is, are you pressing DONE after you select Surround "ON"? If you forget to do that, your setting will not take. Double check that, and let us know what you find.

There may be a separate setting for each media type. I have noticed that the volume seems to be this way, bluetooth streaming remembers it's own volume setting separate from USB streaming, etc. It may be the same for surround. This is with the 17 speaker setup.

On my European Genny the surround sound setting sticks to on when once selected

There is no 'done' button on mine BTW.
Anyway, to save boring you all into a coma regarding all the tests I did, it bottomed-out to doing a reset. The SS button actually disappeared for a while, but a reset returned the button, and it know stays on as default. A lesson learned.

Further use experience. The damn thing won't stay on as default. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Anyway, we have a bunch of Polish guys up the road who work their rocks off and do a great hand wash dirt cheap. She looks lovely and shiny again.

Hi, SS is missing again. The unit doesn't boot-up properly. It's supposed to show the warning page first and doesn't. Should I get the dealer to reload the firmware? Does anybody know where I can download the firmware?

Nick

nick -

probably best to have your dealer check this. Firmware here in the USA is tied to the Map software.

I have the same problem and have an ongoing case with Hyundai Canada about this issue. The dealer has replaced my head unit on multiple occasions with this not fixing the problem. They are in contact with the manufacturer "Mobis" to find a fix...at least that's the story I am being told. It's very annoying for the surround sound feature not to save.

Nick - also I'm assuming your tried the reset? (There is a pinhole usually near the cd eject button. You push a paper clip into that and hold for a few seconds. You may need to re-program some things, but this often fixes glitches)

Thanks for that. Yes, I have reset 3 times now. When I do, everything works perfectly, usually for a couple of engine starts or so, and then it does not boot-up properly. Back to the dealer I guess.
