  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

suspension is not going to get better

Love my 2012 Genesis 5.0, (non-Rspec) suspension very comfortable ride.

I liked my Genesis, as do most posters, but was dissatisfied with the ride also. I took it for as long as I could but finally got rid of it a few months ago and got an Avalon. There are shortcomings with the Avalon, but the ride is perfect for me.

There is a stretch of road on University Drive in Round Rock going to the Teravista Golf Course that has several dips in the road. If I drove over this section in the Genesis at about 50 MPH, I would almost lose control of the car, jarring everything violently. With the Avalon, It is almost as if the dips weren't there. One of them causes a little jumping, but with the Genesis, it was verging on being dangerous.

I haven't driven a newer model, but aparently there hasn't been that much improvement. Let's face it, they designed it for "Performance" and "Comfort" was secondary, at best. That's fine for those looking for Performance, but I am up in age and prefer Comfort.

I think there has been a lot of improvement over the early 2009 suspension, both in 2010 and 2012. The early 2009 springs just completely overpowered the shocks, unless you had about 600 lbs in the trunk/rear seats.

But I agree that suspension tuning is one area where Hyundai seems to be a bit weak in across the board (compared to other manufacturers).
