  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Suspension vs Manufacture Date Survey

Manufactured January 2009. Suspension is quite good, especially on tight curves.

As the pressure inside the tire increases with heat - I'm wondering if a couple of you guys are noticing that more than sensitivity to shock temperatures? I'm not an engineer - I just didn't know shocks were temp sensitive.

As they say PV=MRT
Dimensions of metal parts can change, Spring rates can change, seal tightness can change, viscosity can change, lots of things

Gas and oil filled shocks both have some sensitivity to temperature, the individual design influences how much the effect can be.

In a stressed suspension, as I feel the Genesis sedan has it seems like every little thing is magnified and noticed.

Today, I purposely went down a street where I knew that a sewer line had been recently installed. One side of the street was continuous rough asphalt patches with slightly sunken cross-street patches at each house. I felt that it was a real acid test of the suspension.

Result: the suspension is taut, no doubt about it, but the car did not misbehave in any way, nor did the ride progressively degrade as posted elsewhere. The ride was just slightly harder than my former Azera and the impacts transmitted to the steering wheel are less than the Azera.

My V-8 was built in April.

By the way, the temperature at the time was 102 degrees!

Mfg Date- August 2008
Suspension- Acceptable, but not great
Model- V8 Tech

Way too stiff. Every bump is transmitted back through the suspension, not simply feedback thru the wheel. If I don't get this worked out soon, I'm going to need Dramamine.

Manufacture Date : October 2008
Suspension: Harsh
Model: V6 Premium Pkg

Nitrogen Tires - :p I didn't want 'em, but I didn't have to pay for them either.
