  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

System Settings Reminder

You stated "Some parts of Arizona still do not participate in Daylight Savings Time." which is a bit misleading.

I clarified it by noting that the only part of AZ observing DST is the Navajo reservation in NE AZ. The reason is because the reservation spans both AZ and NM (which observes DST) and the Navajos want uniform time across the entire reservation.

Interestingly, there is the Hopi reservation wholly contained inside the Navajo reservation but it does not observe DST.

Simple, huh? :D
I think the main deal for Arizona is that they are so far south and so far west in the Mountain Time Zone, that DST is just too much daylight at late hours.

Just a little reminder if you haven't already done so, you need to go into System Settings and UNCHECK Daylight Savings Time.

I just finished a 400 mile road trip and had to use the Navi most of the way and I noticed that the ETA was always off by an hour. I bought my R-Spec in May, so the dealer had already setup all that stuff. I thought that Daylight Savings Time would reset automatically, but it does not. On the DIS go to Home/Info-Setup/System Settings and uncheck Daylight Savings Time. :o

I when into Info, System Settings and I did not have Daylight Savings Time on the screen. I have a 2012 4.6 with all the options. Any ideas.

I am not pessimistic. Obviously, Hyundai (or the supplier who makes their audio/video/nav system) could update that info if it has access to the internet or access via a mobile phone system.
Internet is not necessary. My Honda Odyssey knows how to maintain DST settings and time zone settings from the map data. Hyundai uses the same map data source. Hyundai could do it, they just chose not to.

Back on topic, and ditto Marty's post. I cannot find this setting in my car. Is this only relevant to some cars, or only relevant to 2013 cars?

My Genesis is a 2013 R-Spec. I do not know where the setting may be in other models.

Indianapolis, Indiana used to be on Central time at times of the year as well as Eastern time at some times during the year. I never quite understood that. I'm going back 20 years and not sure if it is different now or not.

indiana didn't do DST for a long time - so "EST" during the regular yr and "CST" during the summer.

Thanks I forgot about that. I live right on the East/Central time zone so that would really mess up my ETA on gps.
