  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got a new G2 phone and went to pair it with the Genesis but no luck. First it kept saying can't pair with this device, then sometimes it would say problems with connection but I never got to a point where I could input the passkey.

Anyone care to shed some light as to what I'm doing wrong? The bluetooth picked right up on my old sony ericsson P1i and my brother's old G1 but the new G2 is giving me issues... maybe there is a box I'm supposed to check within android?
the G2 is running android 2.1 if that makes a difference.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Not sure what the problem might be, but I also have a G2 and it syncs up just fine.

Thanks, did you check off any settings within the phone? Perhaps there is a "security" type setting I'm missing.

Should I leave "discoverable" off?

Have you paired the bluetooth successfully with anything else? I tried again this morning and still no luck.

This might sound stupid, but if you're trying to pair with Swype as your input, switch to the stock keyboard to type in the password. Swype seems to screw this up for some reason on my Epic.

Ok i tried disabling the swipe and tried again and same thing. It finds the Genesis with a headphone logo on the right and then when you hold the genesis it says "pair and connect" Once that happens it tries and then a message pops up saying "there was a problem pairing with GENESIS" and that's all. I can't figure what I'm doing wrong.

sorry to confuse anyone, I meant to say my phone is running Android 2.2 the stock version, I just bought the phone last week and haven't messed with any mods/roms or anything. It's completely stock.

I also tried rebooting the phone and then connecting but it still says the same thing.

Has anyone figured this out? I am having the same problem. My G2 what pair and connect just fine with a 2009 Hyundai Azara, but no luck with 2012 Genesis
