  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm a bit of a nerd, so I like numbers.

I've got the 21" wheels on my 2.5t and would love to swap them out with something lighter. Issue is, I haven't been able to find the weight of a stock 21" rim anywhere.

Similarly, with 2 aftermarket lowering springs available now (Storm and M&S), I'd love to be able to compare spring rates to the stock springs, but I can't find that data anywhere either.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's been curious about these things, so if anyone can help out it would be awesome.

Sorry I don’t have the weights for the stock 21s but since they’re cast any flow-form (or any of its derivative names) or forged wheel will be much lighter. Although the HRE flow-formed wheels are quite heavy weirdly enough so if you go with any of those, they might be close to the same weight. I think they’re mid to high 30lbs and would assume the stock wheels are close to 40lbs.

I would think they might be heavier based on comparison with my other Genesis rims. I have the 18" wheel set from Genesis that are my winters and those are about 55 lbs average. These being 21" I'd probably think are heavier but I will weigh once I've made this swap again so more to follow.

Are you weighing with the tires mounted? I was referring to just the wheel weight.
