  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bentley Hyundai in Huntsville, AL has a used 2012 3.8 Genesis with only 1600 miles which I took for a spin recently. Overall, my wife and I were very impressed by the car, especially the fit and finish of the interior. However, there was one exterior detail that bothered me a little, the soft rubber seal that runs along the outside of the rear windshield (and possibly the front windshield too). With my finger tip, I was easily able to push the seal into the gap between the glass and body panel. The seal did not return to its original position; it stayed stuck.

Are all Genesis like this? Would this allow water where its not supposed to be? Or is this seal more for form than function?

Its more form and for smooth airflow. I have never had a problem wirth it.

I never had a problem with mine. As a matter of fact... I think there are two "drain" holes on the bottom of that rubber. No?

Water is supposed to go there, look at the trunk of any sedan. Water goes into the gap between the window and trunk and into an area around trunk opening, then goes around the side of the opening and exits out the gap near the lower corners of the trunk lid...

I have never read about ANY such leaks in this forum, other than water draining off an open trunk lid. Try a forum search.
