  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

YOU folks are the main reason I just purchased a Geneis V8 with Tech Pkg.

I have been researching my purchase for months and my "other" car is a Lexus. I was planning on going the Infiniti, Lexus or Audi route (after eliminating BMW & Mercedes)..... and then I came across this website/forum.

I have not found another forum or group of car owners that "LOVE" their car as much as you guys/gals love your Genesis.

That prompted me to the showroom after which the car became one of my top 3 choices....with admittedly the Audi being my first choice (but the SUV Q5).

The price point was too rich for me on the Q5 and the next option was the Acura, but the Genesis won that comparison hands-down... and I have to say.....

I love my Genesis!

Just wanted to thank you for all your posts and inform you of the influence you had on my decision process.

PS: Enjoyed the Madison Ross forum so much I signed up as a supporting member for a year..... thanks guys.

Hiya Partymixer, great to hear that. And yes we all love our Gennies :D. Mine is garage kept, clean as a whistle all the time and I'm proud as hell of her. I also shopped around for couple months prior to buying it, looking at a few BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus as well as the new Camaro SS2 loaded.A friend of mine told me about the Hyundai Genesis, the same day I went to look at one the dealership gave me one to drive for 4-5 days. That's all it took I was sold after the 2-3 day (even though I kept it for 5 days lol) I carried it back and ordered mine with the colors and options I wanted, 3 days later it was mine. No doubt the best bang for the buck! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine. Great to have you as a member as well, Cheers :D

Up until about 6 years ago I never gave Hyundai a second glance. Then one day I read Warren Brown's glowing review of the Azera in the Washington Post. Out of curiosity I visited a dealer and was amazed at the quality and features of the Azera, especially at the price. I bought and was very happy with the car. Then along came the Genesis - at first I didn't think it was worth $10K more than the Azera, but finally I drove one and changed my mind in an instant. I still held out for another year (the Azera only had 45K miles on it) and then bought the Genesis in February 2010. Like most everybody else here, I love it and am glad I made the switch. Warren Brown remains a big fan of Hyundai and has written a number of favorable reviews of all models (but he really doesn't think much of the Genesis coupe). If I'd visited this forum before I bought the Genesis I probably would have bought sooner.

Congratulations and :welcome:!

welcome & congrats....easy on that throttle...you will be doing 100mph before you know it

Congrats on the purchase. I think the love comes from the fact that most who bought one researched the purchase extensively before hand and were able to make an informed decision. Obviously the owners here are not badge snobs or do they harbor any preconceived notions of what this car is all about. Most are here for the tremendous value, excellent build quality and great driving experience. I cannot think of any other reason that someone would spend their hard earned money. So many unfortunate people pass this car because it is not a boutique brand and they buy only because someone else's opinion is the sole determining factor in what they buy. My sister has one of those RX330 and swears it has no relation to an equivalent Toyota. To admit that would rock her world more than she could handle so she continues in ignorant bliss. Not so here, we all knew what we were getting and for the most part are happy with the purchase.

Well said.

Admittedly I had to get "over" the Hyundai name, but it really wasn't hard once I compared feature-to-feature. The "look" of the car was the final component and once convinced I wouldn't even settle for the 6-cylinder (after being told they couldn't find the V8)........

Drove it to Hilton Head this weekend and it was tough keeping it under 85.... and had to let it gallop a couple of times near 100.... (until the horse-whisperer also known and my "wife") strongly suggested that I back-her off a bit.

Absolutely loved driving this car.
