The 2%???

I've had my '18 G80 Sport now for 7 months and counting. Absolutely no problem other than I tried to drive it over a 90 degree curb and gouged one of the front tires. Reading this forum, one would think the various Genesis models are crapping out all over the place. However, if that were true, car rating services like Consumer Reports wouldn't be giving Genesis top ratings.

So, is it 2% that are having trouble or 1%. Or higher. I always get on the forums of the new cars I buy and I can't remember any of them having so many bitches. A few minutes ago, I read an OLD post about a Genesis that supposedly lost braking! Nothing in the post to indicate any collusion. What did he do, open the door and drag his foot to stop? Then he goes on to say he drove the car home after it lost the brakes!

I must be missing the posts about reliability. Most of this forum seems focused on the G70 everlasting delays. I totally expect they will be reliable based on my prior experience with Hyundai.

Yup, I'm pretty active on the site and can't say I've seen any consistent issues coming up. My only problem, very minor, is a bit of discolouration in a chrome bit that I have no doubt will be replaced. Otherwise all good.

They aren't actually. Most complaints are simply one-off issues caused by the owner. Most don't admit to it doing anything wrong or they insist it's a manufactures defect. To be more exact; there are 3 side to ever story, theirs, the manufactures and the actual truth. Most of the complaints from owners can be seen thru quite easily. Some are just looking for support in their claims, empathy and some, very few, are legitimate.

Take these complaints with a grain of salt. I've read previous owners comments that just blast Hyundai/Genesis with unfounded and erroneous complaints, in an attempt to bolster their own stories of woe. Those who do, leave out important information purposefully and all you have to do is read and actually comprehend what they 're actually reiterating. Most of their continued reiterating on the same issues are erroneous.

They never actually take the responsibility for what has actually occurred but deflect it on others. In this case Hyundai/Genesis. Not saying there isn't a bit of truth in what's being commented, just that very few actually recount the entire circumstances without their personal bias.

Truth be known; how many people do you know that will actually take responsibility for all their actions good, bad or indifferent?
