  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis attracts two very high profile buyers

Both GM and Toyota were amongst the first customers to pick up a brand new V6 Genesis. Perhaps they are also members of www.Genesisowners.com ?

2. No biggy you go past any Vehicle testing facilities and they're packed with different brands

3. The Genesis competes with at least one GM car (most likely Buick), so it is good for GM to disect it. Also, Toyota may be looking at it to compare to the Avalon more than the Lexus.

Don't know of many people that would consider a Hyundai if they are looking in the Caddy/Lexus (or Infiniti/Acura for that matter) class.

4. Its funny how people like superx1919 try to downgrade this car by simply calling it Hyundai instead of Genesis. When Acura came out with the Legend that was what people called it, Legend, and they will call this a Genesis. I'm sure if Hyundai wanted people to call this a Hyundai then they would have used letters and numbers, like CTS, RL, or GS350. Thats why people say Cadillac, Acura, and Lexus. They only copied others on looks, not powertrain. Stop being a hater man.

5. people call it a hyundai because its a hyundai, for the same reason people call you a moron because youre a moron

6. LOL ahhh my...who cares?? they were bought by these 2 companies to see what its really made of..you know to compare and make future product on par or better..and notice hyundai doesnt want the car to hav a hyundai image...no flying h logo on the grille like originally planned....

7. People rarely use both model and make when speaking of a car. A Cobalt is rarely a 'Chevy Cobalt'.

Acura is a luxury brand. The Genesis may be a luxury Hyundai, but it is still a Hyundai.

The facts are the Genesis is trying to be more than the rest of its maker's models. Styling is staid, and other than the pics which show a Buick-level quality, would have to see in person to comment if better than that. Would also have to drive one to see if it was Buick (or big Caddy) floaty, or more tied down like the other luxo rides.

There is a lot of Haterade being served on some of the message boards in reference to the Genesis. Most all of it is coming from people who haven't even sat in one, let alone driven one.

Either way, thanks for the info/link! :)

Thank you for posting this review. Maybe we should just start ignoring all the negativity. It's completed unwarranted and holds no weight.

I actually enjoy reading the negative comments because it let's me understand different attitudes towards brand image. I guess I like being an early adopter. Perception is reality, and one of the reasons I follow this forum is to see if the Genesis will actually change old attitudes towards Korean-made cars.

I certainly don't want to feed all that hot air though so I will try to avoid giving them more attention than they deserve.

I hear ya. The comments are just so asinine. People with no brains should keep their mouths closed..
