  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

do you think this is nice? 🤮🤮

Nope, but have no other choice. The OEM is not much better. Have a boat … need a hitch.

Yes, but have no idea how to get one like yours let alone find someone to install it. The guy doing draw-tite won’t install an OEM for “liability purposes”.

ok, i hope there are other options

I installed OEM hitch by myself in 2 hours. Did not have to jack the car up or drill any holes. Did have to slip the muffler off of the hangers. Just support the 2 exhaust pipes with jack stands, spray the hangers with WD40 use a long screw driver to pry and slid rubber hanger of the bracket. I also had a machine shop cut off that ugly bracket forholding the 7 wire trailer wiring harness because I don't neet a seven wire harness. I will use the hitch mostly for transporting my ebike.

Pics?

Anyone install OEM hitch with wiring harness? I am now thinking OEM looks better than Draw-tite. Appears more hidden. Seems most folks on here are only using the hitch for bikes not boats.

I agree the OEM looks best. Here's some pics.IMG_1105.webpIMG_1106.webp

Thanks for the pics. It doesn’t seem to be as noticeable. Did dealer install or did it come with the car? I don’t see the part attached for the electric plug did you remove it?

I did the install myself. Wasn't difficult. Anyone with basic mechanical skills can do it. I took hitch to a metal shop to cut off the bracket for the electric plug. The hitch is still noticable and ugly but it's the best option we have at this time.

I just picked up our 2023 GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige with a dealer installed trailed hitch. My trade-in was a 2017 MB glc300 which had a class ll trailer hitch. Since the GV70 was also a class ll I thought the ball would be interchangeable but it is not. First the hitch is bigger at 2” versus the gcl300 at 1.25” and calls for same ball size but a bigger ball shank. Does this mean it is NOT a class ll?

New OEM hitch not as bad as I thought. Looking down a few feet away.

Anyone have any luck sourcing a trailer hitch for the GV70?
There is a site on internet called Genesis Parts and Accessories which happen to sell it for $499.00. With the cable kit, it adds about $50-100, more.
