  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The GV70 Trailer Hitch Discussion

If by getting a "CA hitch" you mean Canadian hitch, they're just as ugly here. :(

I will try to get some pics posted in the next day or two

I think we have the same muffler. A very big transverse muffler very close to the rear panel.

Can I ask how long it took to fit?, i’m poncing about in Morocco right now but I’m back mid November and then Genesis Perth will fit my hitch, I ask because they said it takes two days.

Mine was done in less than a day.

Sorry for the delay, at last I have taken pics of the tow bar both on and off. If I was totally anal I could take the shackles off so they are not visible.

We also get a much higher towing limit than in the States. Our maximum trailer weight is 2200kg which converts to 4850lbs.

I don’t know why some of the photos rotated, sorry.

Based on the pictures.. the hitch is not very noticeable. If only Canada/US could get this. I might install one myself... Do you have the exact model number/spec?

sorry I don’t have the part number. This is the hitch Genesis fit in Australia. If I took off the shackles you wouldn’t see anything. I think it is much better than the one supplied in the States, as it preserves a good looking rear.

Just installed my factory hitch. Here are some pics of install. Took about 1 hour. Make sure to put everything in without fully tightening then tighten. By the exhaust tool on eBay

That's what I wanted it for too, but it looks so bad, I take my bike in the truck when I go somewhere. ;)

I understand that legislation dictates that old fashioned square receiver but the Westfalia tow hitch shows you can do better with the rest of the hardware, I personally could not pay for that to hang off the back of my car.

Just had the Australian/European tow hitch fitted and no scaffolding hanging under the car.

What country?

Hi John61, it is the OEM hitch that came installed on the GV70. I had it removed at the dealership and definitely would love to sell it. I'm located in DC. Let me know if you're still interested or how you would like to proceed.
Do you still have the hitch?

I'm not the OP but I have an OEM hitch that I no longer need. I'm located in the DFW area. If you or anyone else is interested, I'd like to sell it. For a 6 pack I'll even help you install it (in my driveway)!

Do you have a photo? I'd be interested if I can get it for around $250 including shipping to Maryland. A new non OEM hitch would run me around $350. Thanks.

That sounds like a good deal. I don't think it would be worth it to ship. It's heavy and bulky. Good luck with the aftermarket one- nothing available when I bought mine!

Do you have the name of supplier or part number for your hitch
