  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The GV70 Trailer Hitch Discussion

Where are you located? I really don't care for the way the factory hitch looks so I would be putting it on as needed. I am trying to locate an Australian or Canadian model. They are much sleeker and harder to see. So I would be interested in it for a decent price. Let me know where you are located and what you are wanting for it.
I'm in New Jersey.

This is the hitch I have (minus the end-cap) 2022-2025 Genesis GV70 Tow Hitch

I am not sure what it will cost to ship something like this.

What would you be willing to pay for this inclusive of shipping?

Canadian model? Nope...ours are the same as yours...bulky and obtrusive. The Australian model and I think also found in the UK, is the one you want. But I wish you luck sourcing it at a reasonable cost.

That's good to know. I contacted several hide a hitch companies that have nothing in the works. I think the back of the car looks very good as it is. I have the tools and the time to install and remove when needed for say long trips. It's a pain but that's what I will have to do.

I posted last night some more info on the hitch I have. I'll PM it to you since it's awaiting moderator approval.

I appreciate that. I can also give you my number if you want to do it that way.

Not sure why I can't send a private message. If you look up the OEM Genesis Parts and Accessories website, it's the tow hitch that is $619.99 (SKU: GEN-113).

I'm in New Jersey, and not sure how much it would cost to ship something like this. If you're local we could do a pickup of some sort.

I'm in Oklahoma and I can buy an aftermarket hitch on eBay for just over 300 with free shipping. I'm also going to need the wiring kit but I'm going aftermarket with that as well. Just to give you an idea what I'm looking at price wise.

I'll wait until someone decides to make a hidden system like many of the euro cars
I think I will do the same. My wife doesn't want that big ass receiver hitch on the back of her sexy car. Lol

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I saw some pics of the Genesis hitch installed in another thread on this forum. The parts show more than I'd like, but I like the functionality. Will be transporting 2 e-bikes, so folding the rear seats and shoving them in there would be difficult or impossible.

I thought it stuck out too. In that same thread (I think the exterior thread), there's a pic taken from the side. Almost no protrusion of those parts at all (a little bit of the hitch, can't see the wiring harness at all). Was glad to see that.

Getting mine installed at the dealer this week. Getting the harness was optional (all I really need right now is the hitch), but I'm getting the harness; it adds like $250 (for the time to do the wiring that's needed). And you never know for the future.

Looking forward to it!
Taking off all of the caution/warning stickers on the Genesis factory hitch made it look so much nicer on my 25 GV70 3.5TT. It actually has a nice black gloss finish, looks much better than when I had it installed!

I am considering putting a trailer hitch on my 2022 GV70 so that I can attach a UHaul trailer to take my daughter to college and then later use a 4 bike Thule bike rack. Wondering if there is a Genesis branded hitch and whether or not a dealer should install it? TIA any thoughts welcome......
The Australian one is removable....

The engine exhausts are quite high on the GV70. I would like to know if the hot air goes directly on the bike wheels?

I bought a Thule Epos which mounts on the tow ball. You are correct, this type of hitch would not work for a bikie rack that mounts in the hitch itself.

I need a hitch with a 2" receiver to mount a bike rack to.
The Genesis dealership wants almost $1,500 for theirs and it looks like a complete hack hanging well below the rear bumper.

Anyone have any advice?
U-Haul's website says it does not exist and will need a custom hitch fabricated.

Thanks
David

Found a hitch on Draw-Tite but it says it is for 2025...anyone know if it will fit on a 2026?

I recently fitted a Drawtite hitch and Teconsha wiring harness .That was a mistake. I did write up a detailed explanation. The short version is to just pay the extra for the OEM Genesis parts. Be aware there is an issue with reversing that you will need to research and remedy.

Thank you for you reply. Could you reply with the title of your write up or link it here? What is the issue with driving in reverse?
