  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

“The Hyundai Genesis 5.0 Sounds Great Without Mufflers”
Highly debatable.
Unless one desired their sporty luxury sedan to sound more like a modded Subaru...:ROFLMAO:

I think it sounds mean and awesome. There's just no way I'd want mine to sound like that. That said, I would not be opposed to a more aggressive sound from a 5.0 V8 when the pedal is stomped on or it's running in the higher RPM's. That would probably be the one thing I'd like to have that my car doesn't. Adjustable exhaust note like some other cars have.

Agree 100%
Would never want to drive around in a car like that.

Has anyone installed Brola mufflers on a 5.0 R Spec? If so can you please provide details?

I have the Magnaflow exhaust on my 3.8 and it sounds awesome. I’m not a fan of deleting mufflers and cutting resonators unless you have a proper set up but that’s just me QUOTE="G-411644, post: 333761"]

So then journal of research and go on YouTube there’s actually a guy that just did a motor swap with the Borla muffler and it sounds really good and not like overpowering towards gonna drone when you’re driving down the road

The out of the box Borla catback drones incessantly. If you've ever driven in one (I have) it'll make you want to wear hearing protection.

Magnaflow drones too, not nearly as bad as Borla. I had the Magnaflow catback and sold it because of the drone. Would love a little more growl but not at the expense of drone.

tross pedal commander basically allowed me to eliminate drone with my foot. also driving in manual mode give you even more control. TBH i have the MF and th drone is minimal and when it is there its not bad and i only hear it cause i have my sound off. that could also just be because i learned negate it all from the beginning and never gave it a chance to annoy me. I love the growl

Yeah I guess I'm just sensitive to sound. Really wanted the MF catback to work out.
If I do end up doing it again I'm going to toy with adding one of these into the exhaust tract.
