  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
Finally picked up my very own Benny 5.0 RSpec 6 weeks ago. 2012. Only now seeing that I may have a problematic engine and tranny based upon the posts I've read here (but not many other places). I didn't plan to lay rubber or perform many full pedal starts, I take very good care of my cars so I'm hoping to sneak past the GennyGremlins here. That being said, the rear shocks need replaced and I cannot find anything whatsoever that fits this car. Must I buy new shocks from Hyundai to replace mine? Thx in advance

Hello and welcome
Why do you say you need new rear struts? How many miles? If you really do need them I would get OEM for sure but they should be an easy DIY install if you are ok with basic tools.
And I hope you are good with the engine oil issue that may happen on the 2012 model. I have a 2013 and it is great though I have had to replace many basic wear and tear parts after 114500 miles.

The judge has ruled. Early build ‘12 V8s are the problem. What is your build date? Look on the driver door frame.
