  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Because I drove through a few dust storms, while out in Arizona, I checked out the Engine Air Filter which was good, only because I had placed a
Pre-Filter in front of the air intake, above the radiator. This homemade
pre-filter was loaded with the red dust from the dust storms, but because I oiled the pre-filter, none of the red dust got to the real engine air filter which still looks great.

Now I wanted to checked the Cabin Air Filter, (Hyundai calls it the "Climate Control Air Filter) so I read the instructions on how to access this filter. Says to drop the glove box, and even shows drawings on the glove box clips. No way. Could not move the clips to drop the glovebox, so I could not get to the air filter. I'm not about to break anything, so I will have a dealer tech show me how to do it. Then I checked the manual, and it says to check the "Fuel Tank Air Filter". Never heard of the Fuel Tank Air Filter. Don't know where it is. I'll have dealer tech show me that also.

I think the manual meant "fuel tank filter", meaning the fuel filter. That usually located inside the fuel tank, on top of the fuel tank or next to the engine.

No, it said "Fuel Tank AIR Filter" and in addition, the parts guy at my dealership found it in his computer. Wanted to show me where it is located, but I was busy doing other things, and just told him that I believe him.

Also the tech said that it is not an easy filter to get to, so for now, I just let it go, and will have them check it out at 15000 miles.

As for the Climate Control Air Filter, which I could not access, the tech also had trouble getting to it, but he finally figured out how to do it. He showed me, but still not easy. The clips in the glove box need to be pulled toward the inside of the glove box, then pulled toward you and removed. When he showed me, even though he had already done it a few minutes before, he still had trouble getting the clips out. The filter looked good, so will probably get it changed at 15000 miles.
