  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It was last July that I purchasesd my black/black Genesis. I put on the wings front & rear plus the hub caps. Of course I love the car and find it gorgeous. BUT --- what really gets to me is that hardly a day goes by that I don't see guys walking around my car obviously in awe and wondering what kind of car it is. Just his morning I saw a couple of guys get out of their pickup while I was in a Dunkin Donuts and do a slow walk around gawking at the car. I've had a lot of pretty cars in my day but none ever drew crowds like my Genesis. Every day I'm more nuts about it that I was the day before.

I've had them say "Whats a Genesis?"

I see the same reaction from people as well, however I'm not sure if that's entirely a good thing since most people see the wings and the first thing that comes to mind is "Bentley" first question most of the time "is that a new Bentley?"..................it's rather disappointing to here Hyundai after that......but I still love everything about the car no matter what the badge is.

I don't know what it is about this car - I've owned lots of cars over the past 40 years, but I have never liked any of them as much as this one. This includes Mercedes, Volvos, several forgettable Amurrican cars, 2 Toyotas and 3 British sports cars (MGB, MGA, TR7).

Oh, and a BMW 530i. Nothing but trouble with that one...

I went to an Italian restaurant one day and the gentlemen who greeted us asked me what kind of car it was. He thought it was a new Mercedes.

I haven't had any comments yet, but every time I walk through a parking lot to my car, I think that it is the best looking car in the lot. Right now my Genesis is parked next to my partner's BMW M3. The Genesis totally outclasses the BMW. I think the Genesis is the best looking sedan being produced by anyone. I much prefer it over any model Mercedes, BMW, or Lexus.

I also have had to numerous to name cars over the pas 35 years. The looker was the Mercedes SL which gets a lot of stares and double takes but the Genny has it beat by at least 3 times. I am kinda getting tired of being tailgated with people trying to read the wing though. Even after they read the wing most do not have a clue what a Genesis is.

Funny, I just saw this the other day - The Mustang GT basically matches the BMW M3 in every stat but costs $30k less. Another case where its easy to buy something for much less money that will give you 99% still.

A Mustang is no competition to an M3 in any respect other than raw power.

On the other hand, a Genesis is a real competitor to a BMW 550i, any Mercedes other than an 'S', and any Lexus other than an "LS". Actually, my son has a Lexus LS430, and I prefer my Genesis over the Lexus.

It's always nice to be unique and of the few, oppose to being like everyone else and their grandma who drives a beemer or a mercedes. Hyundai has done it right.

I got the first compliment on my car today. I stopped at a red light with the windows rolled down, and a car pulled up beside me. The passenger said "Excuse me, what kind of car is that?" I told him, and he said "Wow, it's really nice looking". That's the first complement like that I've received in my life.
