  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It's a very interesting choice for them to choose a amber yellow color DRL. Nobody else in the industry is sporting a amber yellow DRL. Was it intended to be a throwback of old fashioned yellow floglamps?

I know most of u hate the yellow DRL and have either swapped them out or in the process of doing so; but I have taken a liking to it. It just adds to the Genesis flair. Its old school in a new way.

Actually a lot of GM cars used amber lights. Look at some Vettes, and a lot of pickups not much later than 2003-4

Every luxury want to be out there has LED running lights. I find the lights on the Geneses a level above the pack.

Just out of curiosity, if you could "magically" have full LED DRL'S instead of the amber ones would you change or not, be as honest as possibe.

the weird thing is the full led drl is already in there but the wiring doesn't allow it.

I would probably opt to have the audi style drl but im not gonna go out of my way to change it.

Are we sure the current LED surrounds (usable in Parking light mode) are the same intensity as LED DRL's? In Parking Light mode they are really dim.

They are dim in parking lightoses as they are when on as headlight surrounds - I suspect it's a voltage difference that makes them brighter when used as DRL's.

The 2015 headlights don't have a wire in the DRL position on the harness/connector. I suspect the 2016's have that wire - we'll see when we can look at one in person.

Look forward to seeing how possible it is to pull off.

There are upstream electronics and a wiring harness difference to get that dedicated DRL wire in the connector. I'm not sure it will be feasible to "upgrade" the DRL's on a 2015. But we also thought foglights on the 3.8 were not and easy job and they are - so we'll see. Hopefully someone more versed in electrical circuits will figure it out

all the lights are there so it would be a matter of a re-routed wiring adapter harness that sends the signal to the different places.

I dont know why hyundai made the front lighting system so complicated.

Not that easy - in the 2015 Genesis, the DRL signal goes down the turn signal wire so, if even possible, it's likely not just a wire routing change.
