  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

There are still new 2010's out there.

I emailed a dealer that has a new 2010 4.6 w/ tech in a color combo I like. i explained that i was looking for a good deal- maybe a few thousand less than the usaa/zag price for a new 2011 4.6 w/ tech (currently 35750 in my area with competitive, military, and grad incentives).

the sales rep emails back [paraphrase]: that 2010 is already heavily discounted so we can sell it to you at the listed price $38000 or we also have a 2011 we could sell for $37150.

can you believe that? who are they kidding? i swear i don't understand car dealerships.

HAHAHAHAH - I am with you!

When I was at the local dealership, the guy tried to sell me a 2010 even though I told him I wasn't talking $'s that day.

He starts the conversation with, "Well... the list price is what, $43k on it?"

I laughed at him and walked out.

IDIOT.

do you think they are just playing some sort of negotiation game or are they being serious? do you think they really believe they are going to sell a 2010 for more than a 2011?

this is why i doubt i will ever buy a car from a dealer. its the stupid games.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Most dealers will not provide a serious response on phone or through email. You have be prepared to go in person and go head to head with the salesperson and then the GM. A 2010 4.6 built after March '10 could present a good a deal for someone.

which is a problem b/c i don't feel like driving halfway across the country so i can play negotiation games.

I fully understand.

Bought a new 2010 4.6 from Shawnee Mission Hyundai in Kansas City 2 months ago. I live in Texas and it was a pleasant, smooth transaction. Salesman, Steve Genova was great.

How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking...?

I was at my local dealership this weekend looking around and there was a used 2011 no tech v6 for $36k.... Thats crazy. I know I can get top dollar for my 09 with 30k miles on it. It needs new tires. Trying to stretch it out until the 2012's get here.

btw... the dealer has no new news on the 2012 arrival. DANG !

update: in the next email, the dealership informed me that there are no incentives currently available for the genesis.
