  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am spoiled by my wife's 4.6 Genesis sedan. Great power seats, quiet interior, great Lexicon 17 speaker sound system and finally a great engine.

Dilemma: I own a 2004 Mercedes SL 500 that is fast, quiet, full power seat both sides yet is a maintenance nightmare. Just spent $2,500 to replace the top hydraulic pump.

Question:
Recognizing that it is not an SL 500, is the sound system in the coupe as good as in the Genesis sedan and is it true that the seats are not full power. I see that some are saying that it is noisy inside.

I am concerned that the Genesis coupe is nothing more than a newer version of the Tibruion.

Feedback appreciated.

They did skip on sound deadening material, it is quiet until you change the exhaust. Then the noise level comes up. But whose fault is that? If you test drive a 3.8 track you will not be displeased. I have owned different muscle cars (camaro, corvette, challenger r/t ect) over the years and this rates right up there with them in the excitement factor. It has it's own characteristics. Kinda like a go-cart on steroids. Pros fun to drive hard to do the speed limit. The engine rpm range is different sound compared to a V-8. Cons small trunk, no back seat, bad gas mileage for a 3.8 liter engine. It gets different looks from a different group of people. I am just worried when I decide to trade that I am screwed. I have always taken care of my cars and received good trade money back out of them. The name Hyundai scares me a little. So if any one else chimes in, I would stay away from the 2.0 liter tho.:welcome:
