  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G90
Hello, I am looking to buy a Genesis G90 (perhaps a G80), and I have found a dealership with a couple of G90s for sale that are Manufacturer Buyback cars. They have the documentation that they were repaired but still have the manufacturer's buyback title.

One is a 2019 3.3T with 17,000 miles, and the navigation screen went out. This happened to my G80 (which was recently in a wreck and insurance owns it), and they replaced the head unit, worked fine after that.

The other is a 2019 3.3T with 13,500 miles, and they replaced the battery assembly.

Both come with the remainder of the 5 years (so not a lot of time left since 2019s) and 60,000 mile warranties.

Has anyone had experience buying manufacturers' buyback (aka Lemon) cars? Any thoughts on what one should pay under Kelly/True Car/regular pricing?

Forgot to mention that I'm 67, planned on driving my G80 for the unforeseeable future, and plan on driving the G90 for the rest of my days or until self-driving electric cars convince me to change.

I would steer clear of a lemon even if you’ve somehow found one of the few decent Genesis Dealer Service Departments.
