I just took delivery of my GV70, but my thoughts are to leave the "coast" feature off.
As I understand it, coasting only makes sense when deceleration is not desired, ie: on the open highway when you don't need throttle but still want to preserve momentum. But this comes at the cost of idling an engine that's not doing any work.
More likely I'm letting go of the throttle in anticipation of a stop, and would rather accept the added drag of an engine that's not getting any fuel. The more you can use zero-fuel engine drag in lieu of brakes, the closer you get to hybrid-like efficiency.
