  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picked up my 2012 R-spec three years ago today and couldn't be happier with any car I have ever owned.

Congrats! My '12 will turn 4 in 3 weeks and I feel the same way about it. I bought it a new battery for its birthday. Of course, our '14 Santa Fe Sport excels too. Wish I could breed the two into a super CUV.

You seemed to have the opposite amount of problems that the other 2012 R-spec owner has had.

95 out of 100 Genesis seem to be built very solid. The other 5 must be built on a Monday.
I'm going on 15 months without any problems.

I've had only two small items - the car was delivered with an out-of-date nav map (it was built right on the borderline between map releases) and the turn signal switch that liked to turn off my headlights (replaced under warranty). I consider both of those pretty small potatoes considering the amount of technology in this car. But...and this is a biggie....I don't hammer the car. I'm almost 71 and tend to drive all my vehicles soft and smooth. At my age it is easy to raise my blood pressure and so I try to keep it down. If I need to get out of the way in a hurry it is comforting to know I can do that.

I had an '11 Santa Fe Sport (the all-white V6) when I bought the Genny but my wife wouldn't let me keep both cars. :( I had the same thought as you - would have loved to have the best parts of both cars in one vehicle.
