  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is the recommended way to clean carbon from the throttle body and is there a real learn/reset procedure? I'll be put in my new cold air intake on soon and I figured I would clean and reset it while I was in there.

I have done mine a few times. Simply clean it out using Throttle Body cleaner or Seafoam spray and carefully open the butterfly and wipe all around. Then with the car on and fully hot, I will spray in a can of Seafoam Spray through the throttle body being careful to not let the engine stall completely.
No " relearning" or anything you need to do. Just be gentle when opening the butterfly valve (when the engine is off) to wipe away carbon

Wondering this too... I heard you aren't supposed to move the ETB's even when they're disconnected let alone when they're connected and the car on. My throttle valve only opens about 25% when I full matt with the car in the "On" position (Not running for obvious reasons). Is this normal and are you sure there isn't a relearn procedure?

I unbolted the throttle body and cleaned both sides of it. I also moved the butterfly when cleaning it. There was no issues doing this.

The Genesis sedan 3.8 (2015...) workshop manual has a drawing that shows the zones that can be hand wiped with approved type cleaner. It warns about cleaning - presumably, also hosing down with such things as SeaFoam - the pivot points of the butterfly, which are 'dry bearings', which have a coating intended to minimize air leakage.
