Just a note that my 2015 3.8 sedan went into limp mode and threw DTC P0638. I googled it and found the TSB on the fault, which directed replacement of the throttle body. I found one for $177 and the gasket at the local Advance Auto Parts for about $2.50. Forty-five minutes after the part arrived, the new throttle body was on and the car runs perfectly. I appreciate access to some tech data that was of great help as it had the torque specs for the throttle body bolts (7 ft/lb was right in the middle of the range--I set my inch/lb wrench to 84 in/lb to ensure that I got a good torque instead of using my big ft/lb wrench). Also, the training of the new throttle body was specified in the manual--hold the button down for one minute; release; start the car and let it idle for 15 minutes (mine started idling at 1,000 rpm and dropped down to 500 rpm during the training period); turn off the engine; hold the starter button down for another minute; start the car again to ensure the throttle body was properly calibrated and idles smoothly. I also took it out immediately for a spirited jaunt to ensure that throttle response was good. It was.
Thanks to the folks on this forum who made the tech data available. It made this an easy job.
