thump when turn in morning

First off, I know this is probably addressed somewhere already, but...don;t know what to search for??!! to find it. Hard description to nail down.

I have a 2009 4.6 - had for a couple months now. Here's what's happening. IN the morning, start car, back out of garage, sharp turn of wheel to left to turn onto street (still backing up). I get a thud which seems to come from the right front wheel area. Nothing on driveway ro street causing this - seems to be something hitting or getting 'stuck' momentarily on Genny.

Anyone had similar issue and found cause/fix??

Sometimes on very cold mornings a strut shock can make noise. Also, has you car been in a crash that damaged the front end? Otherwise I don't think you should be hearing any kind of thump.

Well, it hasn't been that cold, and, it does stay in the garage which is even warmer, so I doubt that is the casue. I purchased the Genesis used but the Carfax report did not indicate any damage/collisions...not that I trust those 100%.

Perhaps I need to try to replicate in a different situation (not my driveway but maybe just on the street to see if it would be possible to demonstrate to a dealer after it has sat on their lot overnight.

May be related to what you're having. When I put on my winter rims/tires I didn't notice the noise, but now that the OEM rims/tires are back on I'm hearing it again.

If you're asking me, I don't know - I only notice it at home pulling out of the driveway. I haven't seen similar conditions anywhere else to try it

well, I'm systematically testing that now - just takes a couple days and some strategic planning - will let you know!!!
